Rated 4 out of 5 by Tricia Reilly on 12th November 2018

Myself and husband Andy Just got back from a 3 night stay in York. Lots to see and do, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hi-light has to be where we stayed. The Lakeside Lodges are so lovely. They are fitted out with all you need and every Lodge has a beautiful view of the Lake, perfect setting to sit with a glass of wine at the end of the day, much better than being in a B&B. The owner Neil was very polite and took the time to have a chat with us while we walked around the lake. We are definately going to return.

Rated 4 out of 5 by david brown on 14th November 2018

Lodges are quality. Scenic and handy for York Town centre. Unless you are hardened carp angler the fishing was poor. Complete absence of silvers. Still good value for family get together even in November. Quality chippie within quarter mile and chinese/Indian restaurants will deliver to park. Beware town centre car parks are priceyPark on racecourse road for free and walk. 15 min to town walls

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lesley Fitchett on 11th December 2018

Lovely and peaceful when you got used to the trains which were frequent but as I said you kind of didn't notice after a while. Lovely views over the lake, the lounge furniture needed replacing. Tesco within walking distance as long as you've not a lot to carry and bus stop into York about 15 mins depending how quickly you walk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kevin Meredith on 2nd December 2018

It's great we have been coming here for the last 17years

Rated 4 out of 5 by David Bryce on 30th December 2018

Selection of self catering secluded outages and lodges beside a lakeside operated by Hoseasons. Ideal for a break away to get away from it all , for fishing, or for like we did, a special birthday celebration with friends. Close enough for bus links to York city centre, about half an hour away by bus. Quite comfy and well appointed but the pillows they give you are awfully uncomfortable and in need of replacing. You do have to pay for Wi-Fi and make sure you bring washing up liquid, toilet rolls, cleaning essentials and bin bags as they don't priovide you with any but they state to leave accommodation clean and tidy so one would half expect them to supply the essentials at least considering the price they charge including free WiFi too. Just a hint for Hoseasons here to put things right.Prices here are a bit on the expensive side but considering it's in a beautiful peaceful location it makes it palatable.
